Our Story

Following September 11, 2001, Dr. Frank Bourke began developing a structured approach to treating PTSD — one that didn’t require clients to relive their trauma.

That early work, originally known as the R&R Project, has since grown into RTM Global, an organization with a broader mission and global reach. Today, RTM Global has trained over 400 clinicians across the United States, Ukraine, Australia, England, Poland, and Canada.

Montel Williams is an Emmy Award-winning television host, decorated military veteran, author, entrepreneur, and global advocate whose career has been defined by service, leadership, and public impact. For more than 17 years, he hosted The Montel Williams Show, earning national recognition for elevating important conversations and helping audiences navigate complex personal and social challenges.

A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Williams served as a Naval Intelligence Officer and Marine Corps officer, becoming the first Black Marine selected to the Naval Academy Prep School. His distinguished military service laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to leadership, discipline, and advocacy.

Williams is a passionate advocate for veterans, patients with chronic illness, and individuals navigating mental health and trauma. He serves on the boards of organizations advancing health, innovation, and quality of life, including RTM Global, the Fisher House Foundation, and the Ann Romney Center for Neurologic Diseases.

Today, Williams continues to educate and inspire audiences through his television work, bestselling books, and podcasts. His commitment to resilience, recovery, and meaningful change aligns closely with RTM Global’s mission to improve lives through innovative approaches to trauma treatment and healing.

Thomas A. D'Auria

Thomas A. D'Auria

Treasurer

Thomas A. D’Auria is a technology executive, public safety advocate, and nonprofit leader with more than fifty years of experience in information technology, systems integration, and organizational leadership. He has held positions at Carnegie Mellon University, Columbia University, and New York City’s Technology Agency, and founded Information Methods Incorporated, a leading systems integration firm serving public safety, government, and enterprise clients.

Following the September 11 attacks, he worked closely with New York City’s Office of Emergency Management to support emergency response coordination.

Today, he serves on numerous nonprofit and philanthropic boards focused on public service, law enforcement, healthcare, and community development. A recipient of multiple honors for civic leadership, Mr. D’Auria brings extensive experience in governance, strategic planning, and mission-driven organizational growth to RTM Global.

Shelle Rose Charvet is an internationally recognized author, speaker, consultant, and expert in the science of influence and communication. As founder of The Institute for Influence and Success Strategies, she has spent more than four decades researching how language impacts decision-making, leadership, motivation, and behavior.

Her groundbreaking book, Words That Change Minds, became an international bestseller, has been translated into multiple languages, and is used by leaders, organizations, and educators around the world. She has worked with executives, professionals, and teams in more than 30 countries to improve communication, strengthen leadership effectiveness, and increase their influence across diverse audiences.

A highly respected trainer and keynote speaker, she is known for translating complex behavioral science into practical strategies that drive measurable results. Her expertise in communication, persuasion, and human behavior provides valuable insight to RTM Global’s mission of advancing understanding, resilience, and transformative outcomes.

Frank Bourke, PhD

Dr. Frank Bourke brings nearly five decades of leadership experience spanning healthcare, academia, research, and trauma recovery. Trained at the Institute of Psychiatry in London as a Fulbright Scholar, he has served as a lecturer at Cornell University, CEO of a network of twelve psychiatric hospitals, and clinician in a variety of professional settings.

Following the September 11 terrorist attacks, Dr. Bourke led care efforts for more than 850 World Trade Center survivors who escaped from above the 100th floor. His work during that period reinforced his commitment to identifying effective treatments for trauma and PTSD.

As Executive Director Emeritus of the Research and Recognition Project, Dr. Bourke helped advance research on the Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories (RTM) Protocol. Multiple published studies have demonstrated significant PTSD symptom remission among veterans, often in less than five hours of treatment and without the use of medication. He continues to be a sought-after speaker on trauma recovery, resilience, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches.

Clay Walker

Clay Walker is a multi-platinum country music recording artist, songwriter, and nationally recognized advocate for individuals living with multiple sclerosis (MS). Since emerging as one of country music’s leading voices in the 1990s, Walker has achieved numerous chart-topping hits, sold millions of albums, and built a career spanning more than three decades in the entertainment industry.

In 1996, at the height of his success, Walker was diagnosed with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis. Rather than allowing the disease to define his future, he became a leading advocate for awareness, research, and patient support. Through the Clay Walker Foundation and its Band Against MS initiatives, he has helped raise significant funding to advance research and improve the lives of those affected by MS.

Known for his resilience, optimism, and commitment to service, Walker continues to perform, inspire audiences, and champion causes that promote health, hope, and recovery. His dedication to helping others overcome adversity aligns closely with RTM Global’s mission of restoring lives affected by trauma and stress-related conditions.

Mark Ackermann

Mark Ackermann

Chief Executive Officer

Mark Ackermann’s career includes 40 years of administrative experience. He has held executive-level positions with the St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Centers in New York City, the Archdiocese of New York where he ran Pope Benedict’s Papal Visit to New York, the CEO of Lighthouse International, and the CEO of the Catholic Community Foundation of Long Island. He is also the Founder and Principal of Mark Ackermann Associates, a management consulting firm.

Mr. Ackermann currently serves as Chairman of the US Association of Blind Athletes, a member organization of the Team USA Paralympic Organization. He serves as a board member of both the Reader’s Digest Partners for Sight Foundation and the Foundation for Justice and Peace in the Vatican, and as a Special Advisor to the Path to Peace Foundation at the Vatican’s Mission to the United Nations. He also served as an Adjunct Professor at Long Island University, New School University, and New York University.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the Catholic University of America and a Master’s Degree in Not-for-Profit Management from New York University. He and his wife, June, live in Freehold, NJ, where they enjoy keeping up with their six children, their spouses, and nine grandchildren.

Diane Tremaine serves as the Chief Financial Officer of the Post-Traumatic Training Institute (PTTI), LLC. The Board of Directors of PTTI also named Ms. Tremaine the Assistant Secretary and Assistant Treasurer of the Corporation. She is also an officer of The Research and Recognition Project, Inc.

Ms. Tremaine earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA and a Master of Business Administration Degree from Shippensburg College in Shippensburg, PA. She had a distinguished career at Armstrong World Industries, PA for 25 years, where she worked in various roles including Project Engineer, Supervising Accountant, Auditor, and Compensation Director. Later working in the Human Resources Departments at several major corporations including Corning Inc., Advion BioSciences, and XGEN Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in NY.

Ms. Tremaine lives in Beaver Dams, NY, with her husband, a wood and ceramic artist, Dave Tremaine. They love to spend time with their three children and four grandchildren.

Jon is the Chief Marketing/Sales Officer for PTTI. He is a graduate of East Tennessee State University. He has worked in marketing and sales for 30 years. Jon is a proud Army veteran who served overseas. He is thrilled to be able to help his brothers and sisters who are suffering from PTSD using the groundbreaking RTM protocol. “It is an honor to be a part of this amazing and life changing mission”.

Robin Hampton, MS, LMHC

Robin Hampton, MS, LMHC

VP of Education

Robin Hampton’s, MS, LMHC career includes 35 years of experience in the criminal justice and mental health systems.

As the Director and Owner of Clear View Concepts, Inc., Robin provides therapeutic interventions and educational programs for individuals experiencing excessive stress and high-conflict relationships. Her programs include the Emotional Management Program©, parenting programs, and the Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course, among others. Robin is also a qualified social investigator, parent coordinator, and clinical trauma professional. She serves as an expert witness in domestic violence and mental health cases, and she is a Family Court Mediator certified by the Florida Supreme Court. Robin currently serves on the Business and Industry Leadership Team (BILT) for the Florida State College at Jacksonville Human Services Program. She is also one of the original founders of Micah’s Place, a Domestic Violence Shelter in Nassau County, Florida.

As the Founder and Executive Director of Clear View Transformations, she oversees all aspects of a county contract to provide services and supervision to defendants on misdemeanor probation in Nassau County, Florida. Additionally, she manages court probation counselors and implements training, procedures, policies, and protocols for staff.

She is also the proud mother of five and ‘Mimi’ of two.

Daniel Blackwood

Mr. Blackwood, M.A. LPCC, is the founder and the Director for The Evolution Group, Inc., which serves the greater part of central New Mexico since 1998 offering outpatient counseling treatment. Via telemedicine, the organization serves all persons with internet access in New Mexico. Daniel has been practicing as a therapist since 1988 and has 36 years experience serving adults, adolescents, families, and couples. His organizational focus is striving for excellence in mental health and addictions treatment, clinical supervision, program management, educating treatment professionals, organizational consulting, and policy development.

Daniel also holds certifications from the National Council on Problem Gambling, the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals, Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories (RTM), and Mindfulness-Based Somatic Emotional Processing. He is also a past member of the training faculty of the National Drug Court Institute; as well as a member of the National Association of Drug Court Professionals.

Mr. Blackwood received his Master of Arts Degree in Counselor Education in 1988 and his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 1986 from The University of New Mexico. He is the author of Integrity Recovery™, now in its 3rd edition, having sold over 9500 copies to date, and he is co-author of Minding the Body, Embodying the Mind: Mindfulness-Based Somatic Emotional Processing (MBSEP) 2024.

Viktoriia Gorbunova

Grown in Ukraine and educated in various national and international institutions, Viktoriia Gorbunova has dedicated her professional life to working in mental health and psychological education. With a variety of backgrounds in research, developmental and educational projects, scientific editions, and psychotherapy, Viktoriia is a passionate advocate for promoting mental health.

Her current work is focused on further developing and researching the efficacy of the Universal Mental Health Training (UMHT), leading the EuroPsy National Awarding Committee in Ukraine, and expanding the Reconsolidation Trauma Memory Protocol (RTM) in Ukraine and Europe.

Jenny Lehman

Jenny Lehman

US Lead Trainer

Jenny Lehman is a licensed clinical social worker practicing in Jacksonville, Florida. She received her Masters in Occupational Therapy in 1995 and worked as an occupational therapist in hospitals, nursing homes, and home health for 15 years. After volunteering in hospice care, Jenny felt called to become a mental health practitioner and received her Masters in Social Work in 2012. Jenny practiced in the oncology setting for several years before creating her own private practice.

Jenny has extended experience in the area of anxiety, depression, and trauma. After connecting with Robin Hampton at a wrestling banquet, Jenny became intrigued by RTM and pursued RTM training. She has been a staunch advocate ever since and has treated many individuals with this “amazing protocol”. Jenny is passionate about helping as many individuals as possible with RTM.

Jenny has been married to Mike (the assistant wrestling coach that introduced her to Robin) for 27 years and they have three grown children, along with two very spoiled dogs.

Larysa Zasiekina

Larysa Zasiekina

Ukraine Lead Trainer

Larysa Zasiekina is a Professor of Clinical Psychology at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University and Director of the Ukrainian Psychotrauma Center, and currently holds a British Academy Researcher at Risk Fellowship, based at the Department of Psychology at the University of Cambridge.

Professor Zasiekina is a leading expert in PTSD, moral injury, continuous traumatic stress, psycholinguistic and cultural aspects of the memory of trauma. Her focus is on the psychological inter-generational impact of genocide in Ukraine and Eastern Europe, including studies of survivors of the Holocaust and Holodomor (man-made famine in the Soviet Union targeting ethnic Ukrainians) and their children.

Professor Zasiekina has published extensively on the language of trauma in high-impact journals in her field and spearheads international partnerships with scholars of psychotrauma at universities in Canada, Israel, Switzerland, the USA, and the UK. As a Fulbright Scholar (2010-2011 and 2015-2016), she explored the collective traumas of Native Americans and African Americans in the USA.

Professor Zasiekina’s clinical perspective and experience in trauma-focused therapies are central to the current project at the University of Cambridge, “Exposure to Continuous Traumatic Stress and Its Consequences among Young Adults in Ukraine.”
